Wednesday 27 January 2021

School will be open.

We have been at school today with a tractor to clear the huge amount of snow which has been covering the site. We plan to open on Wednesday 27 January for those vulnerable groups and children of Critical Workers who are attending during lockdown.

Those children who were due to start on Monday of this week may come in Wednesday.

Please be careful, especially on pavements in the surrounding area and it might be advisable to allow some extra time for your journey.

Arrival times 8.30 – 8.40am – Reception, Y1, Y6 and Y5

 8.35am – 8.45am – Y2, Y3 and Y4

Please note that due to the snow we have not had our normal food delivery. This means the school dinner tomorrow will be pizza, mash and beans (rather than roast dinner). This will be for the children who have been registered for a daily school lunch (please remember that during this lockdown time) you cannot switch between provision.

Message to Parents - Monday 25 January 2021

School Closure – Tuesday 26 January 2021

Unfortunately, having considered today the state of the School site and the associated Risk Assessments, we will be unable to open the School on Tuesday 26 January for those children of Critical Workers and vulnerable groups who would normally be attending during this current lockdown.

We hope this advanced notice will help those parents who may need to make alternative arrangements for childcare. We will, of course, keep you updated on Tuesday as to the situation for Wednesday.

We have attached a letter detailing the arrangements for home learning for Tuesday.

The safety and well-being of both children and adults has to be our paramount concern and on this occasion we have no option but to close the School.

Please take care.

Message to Parents - Sunday 24 January 2021.

School Closure – Monday 25 January 2021

Unfortunately, due to the snowfall, we will be unable to open the School on Monday 25 January for those children of Critical Workers and vulnerable groups who would normally be attending during this current lockdown.

Although we know this will not be ideal for some families, having carried out a risk assessment of the site, we are unable to ensure safe access to and around the premises. In addition, we do not know how bad the conditions may be for families trying to get to and from Padarn Close tomorrow.  The safety and well-being of both children and adults has to be our paramount concern and on this occasion we have no option but to close the School.

We hope this advanced notice will help those parents who may need to make alternative arrangements for childcare. We will, of course, keep you updated on Monday as to the situation for Tuesday.

A separate message will be sent out later today detailing the arrangements for home learning. Unlike on previous “snow days” work will now be available to be accessed by all children, meaning that the majority of our learners will have work to do tomorrow (remote access allowing).

Please take care.
