Ski Success - 2021
Marnie and Hattie T
We took part in the National School Snowsports Association Race League. There were 42 schools competing in the whole competition. Some schools were made up of a team of 4 plus racers.
There were 10 different events held at different ski slopes around the country,
We entered 2 events, these were at Swadlincote and Stoke Ski Centre.
At the Stoke event I (Hattie) claimed 1st place. At the Swadlincote event I (Hattie) placed 1st again and Marnie 3rd.
From the 10 events, the first 5 people who placed were invited to the National School Final at Swadlincote on 19 June.
During the final my (Hattie) podium position was 1st U10 girl with following runtimes,
Run 1 14.49, Run 2 14.35, Run 3 14.34
Marnie’s podium position was 8th U14 girl. I (Hattie) earned 10 points and Marnie 3.
We came joint first and tied with another school. However, due to our combined timings overall we jumped into first place with a time of 30.23 as the other school’s time was 30.74!
We are waiting for our medals to arrive in the post.
We will also receive an invitation to participate in The National Schools Ski Squad 2022.
Should we want to become a squad member we must attended 1 alpine squad.
