As parents you have the right to choose which school your child attends. Once you have chosen that school you and your child have the responsibility to follow the rules and guidelines of the School.
Rules help ensure that everybody understands their rights and responsibilities. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that they are aware of the following rules relating to Uniform and Dress Code and that their child adheres to it.
For some children, provisions such as fidget toys, ear defenders and chews are necessary for them to be able to access their education. However, not all children benefit from these and they can be a distraction to their learning - an opportunity to swap fidgets with friends.
Any provisions that need to be implemented are discussed with your child's class teacher and Miss Rose (SENCO). These concerns are then discussed at a panel meeting with Miss Rose (SENCO), Mrs Randall (Assistant Head) and the pastoral team. If the provision, such as a fidget toy, is agreed, we shall contact you. If your child has a fidget toy, ear defenders or chew, that is not an agreed provision, it will be removed by an adult and they must leave it at home. This is to ensure all children can access their learning appropriately. If your child has any of these provisions, they will be provided by school and not from home. This is all outlined on the SEND policy.
In line with the SEND policy, if you believe your child needs a provision like this you need to discuss this with your child's class teacher. If your child already has a provision in place, and this has been previously agreed, it shall remain in place.
The School keeps a supply of second hand uniform which is available to parents on request via the School Office.
The School is, on occasions, also able to support parents with the costs of uniform for parents who are eligible.
