As you will be aware the National Curriculum in England is currently in a process of change. At Alder Coppice Primary School we are currently following a timetable of changes between the National Curriculum (2000) and the National Curriculum (2014), as set out by the Department for Education.
We are very excited about the changes and have been working hard over the past academic year to ensure that the transition to the new curriculum is well thought out and matches the needs of our pupils.
From September 2014, children have followed the new National Curriculum (2014) for Mathematics, English, Science and the Foundation subjects, which are: Art & Design, Design Technology, Computing (previously known as ICT), Music, History, Geography, Physical Education (PE) and Languages. All children also study Religious Education (RE) and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE).
Within the core subjects of English and Mathematics there is an increased national expectation relating to what a child should attain by the end of each school year.
